Cookie policy
Which cookies and browser storage Neario Dineout uses, why, for how long, and how you control the optional analytics.
1. Cookies and browser storage
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. We also use browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), which works in a similar way. Everything listed here is first-party: it belongs to Neario Dineout and is never shared with advertisers.
2. What you can choose
Necessary cookies and storage keep the service working (signing in, security, your table and cart, settings you switch on yourself). They don't need consent and can't be switched off here.
Analytics is the only optional purpose. It is off until you choose “Accept all” or switch it on, and you can change your mind at any time with the button below or the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. We don't use advertising, marketing or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Everything we store
Necessary: cookies
Secure, first-party cookies. The sign-in cookies are HTTP-only, so scripts on the page can't read them.
| Name | Type | Kept for | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
do_consent | Cookie | 180 days | Remembers your cookie choice (and which version of this policy you answered), so we don't ask on every visit. |
dineout_account | Cookie, HTTP-only | 14 days | Keeps restaurant owners and managers signed in to their dashboard. |
dineout_staff | Cookie, HTTP-only | 1 day | Keeps waiters and kitchen staff signed in for their shift. |
dineout_guest | Cookie, HTTP-only | 1 day | Links a diner's phone to the table they scanned, so orders go to the right table. |
dineout_platform | Cookie, HTTP-only | 1 day | Keeps the Neario Dineout platform administrator signed in. |
dineout_registration | Cookie, HTTP-only | 30 minutes | Holds a restaurant's registration while the owner verifies their email and mobile number. |
Necessary: browser storage
Stored only on your device; it never leaves it unless you submit the form or order it belongs to.
| Name | Type | Kept for | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
dineout_cart:<restaurant>:<table> | localStorage | Until the order is placed or the cart is emptied | Keeps the dishes in your cart if you refresh or briefly leave the page. |
dineout_cart_cleared:<restaurant>:<order> | localStorage | On this device until you clear site data | Makes sure a cart isn't shown again after that order was placed. |
dineout:register-form | sessionStorage | Until you close the tab | Keeps the registration form filled in if you refresh. It never stores your password. |
mi_job_<restaurant> | sessionStorage | Until you close the tab | Lets a menu import in progress continue if the owner refreshes the page. |
DINEOUT_DB_V1 | localStorage | On this device until you clear site data | Demo restaurants only: keeps the changes you make while trying the demo. |
Necessary: settings you switch on yourself
Saved only when you use the setting, because you asked for it. Clearing your browser's site data removes them.
| Name | Type | Kept for | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
dineout_muted | localStorage | On this device until you change it | Remembers that you muted the order chime on the staff or kitchen screen. |
dineout:last-staff-restaurant | localStorage | On this device until you clear site data | Pre-fills the restaurant you last signed in to as staff on a shared device. |
Optional: analytics
Only after you agree. We count visits to our public pages with privacy-friendly analytics (Plausible). It sets no cookies, doesn't identify or profile you, and shows us only totals such as page views and where visitors came from. If you reject analytics, the analytics script is never loaded.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Blocking the necessary cookies stops you from signing in or ordering at a table.
