Platform fee policy
Neario Dineout is free for restaurants. This page explains the one charge that keeps it that way.
The short version
- Restaurants pay ₹0 a month: no subscription, no setup fee, no upfront payment, every feature included.
- Each paid guest bill carries a fixed platform fee of ₹2, shown as its own line.
- Every new restaurant starts with a ₹200 welcome credit — its first 100 bills carry no fee, and guests are shown “Platform fee ₹0”.
- After that, the fee comes out of the restaurant's prepaid platform wallet, which it tops up as it goes.
1. When the fee applies
The ₹2 platform fee is added once to every paid guest bill. It is not charged on bills that total ₹0 or on bills that are cancelled. The fee is fixed per bill: it does not change with the bill amount or the number of guests.
2. How it appears on the bill
The fee is always shown to the guest as a separate line labelled “Platform fee”. It is never described as a service charge and never mixed into menu prices. GST is calculated on food and drinks only; no GST is added to the platform fee.
3. Who pays whom
The guest pays the whole bill, including the platform fee, to the restaurant's own UPI ID through the waiter's QR code. Neario Dineout never handles guest payments. The ₹2 from each paid bill is deducted from the restaurant's prepaid platform wallet at the moment the bill is marked paid.
4. The prepaid wallet
- Every restaurant has a platform wallet holding welcome credit and recharged balance. Welcome and promotional credit is always used first.
- While welcome credit covers the fee, the guest's bill shows Platform fee ₹0. Once it is used up, the ₹2 line appears, the restaurant collects it with the bill, and it comes out of the wallet.
- Restaurants recharge from their dashboard by paying our UPI QR for the exact amount shown and entering the UTR. We verify the payment and credit the wallet, usually within a few hours; a receipt is issued for every verified recharge.
- Welcome and promotional credit expires after the validity shown on the wallet page (90 days by default). Unused promotional credit then lapses.
5. If the wallet runs out
When the balance reaches zero, service continues on a grace limit of ₹20 — about ten more bills — so an evening of service is never interrupted. Beyond the grace limit, only the start of new table sessions pauses until the wallet is recharged. Tables that are already seated are never interrupted: their guests can keep ordering, and an in-progress bill can always be paid. The next recharge clears the grace amount first, and everything resumes immediately.
6. Refunds and wallet rules
- Wallet balance is prepaid credit for platform fees only. It cannot be withdrawn, transferred or converted to cash.
- Welcome and promotional credit is non-refundable and has no cash value.
- If a bill that has already been paid is voided or refunded, its platform fee is returned to the wallet automatically.
- For a question about a specific recharge, contact support with the UTR.
7. The fee cannot be removed
The platform fee is how Neario Dineout stays free for every restaurant, so restaurants cannot switch it off or hide it. It is always shown openly to guests.
8. Changes and questions
If the fee or these rules ever change, we will tell registered restaurants in advance, and the change will only apply to bills created after it takes effect. Questions: info@neariodineout.in.
